App crashed on way to rate it. Good timing. App is okay. It is not full paper. It is the content that is the problem and whether it is anti-sodo, port, or other city issues (and now boycotting KJR) it's bias is obvious and unacceptable from a major city newspaper.
I prefer reading my news online, but find both this app clunky, slow-loading, and difficult to navigate. If something is not featured or posted in the last day or so, it disappears. Once this happens, the search function is mediocre at best, even if you type in the exact title as it appeared in the print version. The website is only marginally better, so I find myself using the Seattle Times only for its local content while relying on other publications for national and world news.
I live in Seattle and want LOCAL to the city and state news. This is where I can get it. At least some of it. Speed has improved a bit. If I want International or national news or politics, I prefer Reuters.
App doesn't airways load and avec erosion pick doesn't work. Support annoying.
This rating is for the Seattle Times app, not the Seattle Times—t's great having a local paper and an app for said paper. However, the UX is a bit dated. The app doesn't communicate with social/online regarding the paywall or as a default option, there aren't mobile notifications, and it can't be customized by interest. That said, while the app has some shortcoming, they're not deal breakers.
Love the reporting on the tech sector up there. The scandal involving Mayor Murray was well reported as well. Very good content all around.
