To begin using the Seattle Yellow Cab App today:
• Download the free app
• Enter your phone number
• Validate your account (via the notification code you receive)
• Login to the app (Set your name and Email for receipts)
• Enter your pickup address
• Enter your destination address (this allows us to provide an estimated fare amount)
• Book your trip

On booking a reservation, you will immediately receive a confirmation number, along with an update when your vehicle has been assigned. From here you can monitor the progress of your vehicle as it moves towards your pickup location.

The Seattle Yellow Cab App retains a history of your previous reservations for expense management and to quickly rebook the same trip with the push of a button. You may also create a list of favourite locations (Home, Work, etc.) to speed up the booking process.

Unfortunately, there's no way to book the car ride and choose an option that you're either paying cash or (as in my case) using taxi scripts. You just have to call the phone number main Taxi line. Thankfully the operator (or automated system?) will send you a text message with the car's location. So, you know, when it is on its way or when it should be arriving.

The app itself is very easy to use, but I couldn't get a driver assigned when I booked a ride. I pre booked, gave myself an extra 30 minutes, and still couldn't get a ride, or get a person on the phone. I absolutely did not expect instant or perfect service, but need some window of reliability. I was so hopeful, and I'd really like them to have success with making this work.

Just awful. Drivers cancel constantly even though I'm centrally located. They'll call and say "flat tire" (heard this excuse 6-7 times) or some such and that's if you're lucky- most of the time you can see then drive in the opposite direction or they'll cancel with no warning. The app itself is terrible too; slow, clunky and glitches out often. When it works and you get a normal driver it's great, but that happens 20% of the time. Being cheaper than uber/lyft doesn't make up for all this.
