Second Order is a personal reflection tool for tracking how decisions and events continue to affect your life over time. Create an origin event, add its direct first-order result, then record any later second-order effects when they appear. Chains can remain open while you wait for a result, so delayed consequences are not lost.
The Chains section shows all recorded sequences and lets you filter them by status, including items still waiting for a result or chains where a first effect has already been added. Timeline presents events chronologically and shows the current stage of every chain — origin, first order or second order.
Overview summarizes recent activity and highlights unfinished chains that may still develop. Patterns analyzes your local history across Week, Month and All Time, showing completed chains, unexpected effects, average time between stages and recurring origin categories such as Work, Routine and Personal.
Use these views to compare repeated situations, notice long-term consequences and understand how small actions develop into larger outcomes. All entries are structured around your own notes and manual input, keeping the app focused on reflection rather than automatic tracking.
