About this app

Camera Lite is a minimal, fast camera app for Android, inspired by the clean Google Camera look. No bloat, no ads, no accounts. Just open the app and shoot.

WHAT YOU GET

A photo and video camera that gets out of your way. Black background with yellow accents, an iPhone-style mode picker, lens pills at the bottom of the preview, an instant shutter that releases the moment you tap, and a built-in gallery viewer with swipe and pinch-to-zoom.

KEY FEATURES

Photos and videos with one tap. The shutter releases immediately so the next shot is always ready, regardless of how long the file takes to save in the background.

Multi-lens support out of the box. The app detects every lens your phone exposes, including the main camera, ultrawide, telephoto, and macro, and shows them as floating pills (.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x) above the preview. Tap any pill to instantly switch.

Hidden ultrawide unlock. Some phones keep their ultrawide hidden from third-party apps. Camera Lite detects these via Camera2 and gives you access to the wide-angle sensor that the stock camera reserved for itself.

4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. Switch with one tap.

Front and back camera flip, with permanent settings for both.

Pinch to zoom and tap to focus, with a clean ring animation.

3-second and 10-second timer for self-timed shots, with a large countdown shown on the preview.

Auto, on, and off flash modes.

Grid overlay (3x3 rule-of-thirds) for composition.

Horizon level overlay that turns yellow when the phone is perfectly level. Toggle it from settings.

GPS location can be saved into the photo's EXIF metadata. Optional, off by default.

Adjustable photo resolution: Maximum, High, Medium, Low. Higher means more detail, more storage.

System haptic feedback on tap and capture, with shutter sound that respects your media volume.

GALLERY

A built-in gallery viewer that shows your captures in a swipeable carousel. Pinch to zoom into photos, double-tap to zoom 2.5x, swipe sideways to move between shots. Or, if you prefer, set the app to open your system gallery on tap and skip the in-app viewer entirely.

Videos auto-play with a single tap to pause and resume.

Delete and share buttons are right where you expect them.

PRIVACY

Camera Lite does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Photos and videos stay on your device. GPS location is optional and only written to the EXIF of the photo you just captured, never sent anywhere.

No ads, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, no analytics.

The app requires camera and microphone permission to record, and storage permission to save files to your gallery. Location permission is requested only if you enable GPS tagging.

REQUIREMENTS

Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher. Works best on Android 10 and above for scoped storage support.
