Selah Player – Quick Guide

Selah Player is designed to be simple and automatic. If anything feels unclear, please send feedback—we’re always improving the experience.

Automatic External App Support

When Selah Player is turned on, it automatically detects and works with:

YouTube
Spotify
Pandora

This allows Selah to start the scripture timer while you listen.

Local Music Playback

The main screen shows your local media player.

If you press Play and nothing happens:

Scroll down to Settings
Tap Show next to More Settings
Select Music folder
Choose the folder that contains your audio files

More Settings automatically hides after 30 seconds.

Scripture Timing Controls

Inside Settings:

Local Music Slider

Adjust when scripture plays during local playback
Range: 2–10 songs

Streaming Slider

Adjust scripture timing for:

Streaming inside Selah
YouTube
Spotify
Pandora

Range: 1–60 minutes

External App Overlay

Selah automatically works alongside supported apps.

To enable or disable this feature:

Toggle Auto overlay external apps
Or use the Auto overlay ON button while overlay is active

Press Pause anytime to pause the scripture timer.

Voice Selection

Selah automatically selects the best available language voice on your phone.

To change voices:

Tap Voice
Select a device voice
Tap Preview to listen

Tap Voices to open your phone’s Text-to-Speech settings. From there you can install additional voices (availability depends on device).

Premium Voices

Premium includes 4 enhanced voices:

Premium Male 1
Premium Male 2
Premium Female 1
Premium Female 2

Free and Basic plans can preview sample audio.

Premium users can enable and switch between voices anytime.

Streaming Support

Selah can stream audio from custom URLs.

To use streaming:

Enter a stream URL
Save it
Tap Show (bottom right) to access saved streams
Scripture Mood Selection

Tap Mood in the Scripture section to choose scripture based on how you’re feeling.

Examples include:

Hope
Peace
Strength
Encouragement
Manual Scripture Controls

Scripture can also be played anytime by tapping:

Play Scripture Now

After scripture plays:

Tap Explain for a short explanation
Tap Pray for a guided prayer

Tap once to activate
Long-press to lock the feature on

Personal Pastor

Tap Personal Pastor to ask questions about:

faith
scripture
encouragement
guidance
prayer

Steps:

Tap the mic
Speak your question
Tap Ask

Subscription Plans

Tap My Plan (top-right corner) to view:

Selecting View Plans shows feature details so you can choose what fits best.
