The Sightmark app connects compatible Sightmark riflescopes to a phone or tablet for remote live viewing and device control. Once connected, the user can view the riflescope’s feed without remaining directly behind the optic. This is useful when the rifle is secured on a tripod or other stable support, and when a shooter and spotter need to monitor the same view.
The app also provides remote access to supported riflescope settings. Depending on the connected model, users can adjust display values, select a thermal color palette, change the reticle style and color, manage recording options, choose weapon profiles, review media, check storage, and perform device-maintenance functions. Remote adjustment helps avoid unnecessary contact with a carefully positioned riflescope.
Connection is made through the riflescope’s local Wi-Fi network. This direct connection does not require internet service. After the mobile device joins the riflescope’s Wi-Fi network, the Connect Device control changes from gray to red. Tap the red control to open the live riflescope feed.
The wireless live view may have noticeable delay. Use the mobile feed for observation, setup, recording review, and spotter support. Do not use it as the primary aiming view or rely on it for time-critical shot placement or firearm-safety decisions.
Safety and Operating Limitations
• Always follow the four universal rules of firearm safety.
• Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction while connecting a mobile device or changing settings.
• Secure the rifle before using a phone or tablet near it.
• Confirm important changes through the riflescope before firing.
• Do not treat the delayed mobile feed as a real-time substitute for the riflescope display.
• Some app controls change settings on the connected riflescope immediately. Confirm the selected reticle, palette, weapon profile, and other critical settings before use.
Connecting a Riflescope
1. Power on the compatible Sightmark riflescope.
2. Enable Wi-Fi on the riflescope.
3. Open the Wi-Fi settings on the phone or tablet.
4. Select the Wi-Fi network broadcast by the riflescope. Use the SSID and password shown in the riflescope’s Wi-Fi settings (the default password is 12345678).
5. If the mobile device warns that the network has no internet access, choose the option that keeps the device connected. The riflescope creates a local Wi-Fi connection and does not provide internet service.
6. Open the Sightmark app.
7. Wait for the gray Connect Device control and Wi-Fi symbol to turn red.
8. Tap Connect Device to open the live view.
9. When finished, open Device Settings and tap Disconnect.
If Connect Device Remains Gray
• Confirm that Wi-Fi is enabled on both the riflescope and the mobile device.
• Confirm that the phone or tablet is connected to the riflescope’s SSID, not another saved network.
• Accept any prompt asking whether to remain connected to a network without internet access.
• Move the mobile device closer to the riflescope and reduce obstructions between them.
• Close and reopen the app after the Wi-Fi connection is established.
• If necessary, restart the riflescope’s Wi-Fi function and reconnect.
Live-View Delay
A visible delay may occur between activity in front of the riflescope and its appearance on the phone or tablet. The amount of delay can vary with the connected hardware and wireless conditions. This latency is expected behavior for the app’s transmitted view. A shooter should aim through the riflescope itself, while a spotter may use the app to observe the transmitted image and assist with non-time-critical adjustments.
