About this app

SELM gives you the exam itself, not a course about it.

Sit a full mock exam for TCF Canada or IELTS General Training — every section in the official order, each one timed, section boundaries you cannot cross backwards, and each recording played once, the way the real test plays it.

THE MOCK EXAM IS FREE, AND STAYS FREE
Start a full timed mock exam without creating an account. Sit the comprehension sections, then create an account to read your result and to keep it. The exam itself is not behind a paywall and is not a limited trial.

WHAT YOU GET
• Full timed mock exams — TCF Canada (French), IELTS General Training and IELTS Academic (English)
• An exact comprehension score: the questions you answered correctly, counted
• Your result read as CLB and NCLC, against the level your destination asks for — Express Entry, Canadian citizenship, or skilled migration. These levels are set and published by the Government of Canada; the original sources are linked below
• Practice across four skills — listening, reading, writing and speaking — in the exam's own language
• 1,036 questions across the bank
• Audio recorded in more than one accent, so listening practice is not built on a single voice

WHAT SELM DOES NOT DO
SELM does not publish a predicted band or a predicted score. Comprehension is counted, because counting is exact. Writing and speaking are not scored yet: the app collects your answer and tells you plainly that no score is published for it. We would rather show you a gap than a number no examiner would recognise.

WHO IT IS FOR
Candidates preparing for Canadian immigration language requirements — TCF Canada in French, IELTS General Training in English — and anyone who wants to know where they stand before they book and pay for the real exam. If your destination is Express Entry, Canadian citizenship or a provincial programme, the app reads your score against the CLB or NCLC level that destination actually asks for.

OFFICIAL SOURCES — GOVERNMENT OF CANADA
Any immigration or citizenship requirement shown in this app is taken from pages published by the Government of Canada. Requirements can change, and the official pages are the authority — not this app. Confirm your own requirement here:

• Express Entry — language test results and the CLB/NCLC levels each programme requires:

• Language test equivalency charts — how IELTS, CELPIP, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada results convert to CLB and NCLC:
