About this app

Son of Serigne Touba and Sokhna Faty Diakhaté, Serigne Saliou has come to us by the grace of God; according to what is recorded by Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Diop "Dagana" in his "Irwà u-n-Nadim" (The drinking trough of the commensal) on (Wednesday) 14
Hegira Dhulqida 1333; on September 22, 1915, in Diourbel. Serigne Touba had then finished serving his sentence of more than seven years of exile in Gabon (1895-1902), four years in Mauritania (1903 - 1907), five years of house arrest in Thiéyène (1907 - 1912) and was still under house arrest in Diourbel (1912 - 1927) where he spent the rest of his stay on earth. As for Sokhna Faty, she is the daughter of Serigne Modou Diakhaté Méounou and Sokhna Dieng Sylla. She is the sister of the very famous Serigne Amsatou Diakhaté; disciple of Serigne Touba, and Sokhna Mariama Diakhaté, mother of Serigne Abdoul Ahad and Serigne Shouaybou Mbacké. May God be satisfied with all of them. When Serigne Saliou came into the world, it was to this same Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Diop "Dagana" that the Grand Sheikh appealed to inform him of the name: Aç-çâliha
(the pure, the upright, the virtuous ...) which he wrote on the ground. Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine immediately composed verses in honor of the newborn. "May God," he called upon, by His Grace, preserve us çâlihâ
/ The Eternal Who, through him, gave us purity May God make it an eternal sun in the sky of his time / thus erasing the darkened face of it May God eternalize it, completing his gifts / in blessing and beneficial sanctification. "
Serigne Touba himself began the initiation of Serigne Saliou to the Holy Quran; before entrusting it to Serigne Alassane Diakhaté with whom he did his religious humanities (memorization and written reproduction of the Holy Quran; from memory). Serigne Thierno Mbacké "Guélongal", son of Serigne Omar (cousin and early disciple of Serigne Touba), reports that Serigne Touba tells Serigne Alassane, entrusting him with Serigne Abdou Samad, Serigne Abdoul Ahad, Serigne Saliou and Serigne Shuaybou, that if he succeeded in making them master the Holy Quran, he would guarantee his entry into Heaven.
