**Tortoise Time** is a screen-time app for children aged 6-14.

It does not slam the screen to black the moment time runs out. Tortoise Time uses six gentle stages to help children wind down: reminders at 60%, 75%, and 90%, then a friendly cover screen at 100% to guide them to stop. Parents set daily limits, allowed time windows, and monitored apps, protected by a parent PIN.

For children, saved screen time becomes progress in a little turtle's voyage. The goal is to turn "I was forced to stop" into "I can stop myself."

**PRIVATE BY DESIGN — LOCAL FIRST, NO AD TRACKING**
Screen-time records, limits, the parental PIN (stored as a salted SHA-256 hash we can never reverse), and game progress stay on this device. Tortoise Time has no accounts, no ads, no advertising ID, and no cross-device sync. To fix crashes and improve reliability, the app sends limited crash diagnostics and a small number of usage events to Google Firebase. These include a pseudonymous random installation ID, not names, age, location, contacts, advertising ID, PIN, monitored-app lists, or what a child watched. We never sell data.
