About this app

Shahidi is the trust layer for parcel deliveries in Tanzania.

When a seller in Mwanza sends goods to a buyer in Dar es Salaam, the parcel passes through hands that don't know each other — a bus stand attendant, a Bajaj rider, an office clerk. Most deliveries go fine. Some don't. Until now there was no way to prove what actually happened, only stories swapped after the fact.

Shahidi records every handover with a 6-digit PIN sent by SMS. The carrier and the buyer don't need our app — Shahidi works with any phone that receives SMS. Only the seller installs the app.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Register the parcel. Photograph the goods, set a buyer phone number, declare a value. Shahidi gives you a short code (e.g. DAR-K3J9) and a printable sticker with a QR.

2. The carrier picks it up. When you hand the parcel over, Shahidi sends the carrier a PIN by SMS. They show it to you, you confirm it in the app — handover recorded, with a timestamp.

3. The buyer collects it. When the buyer arrives, Shahidi sends them a PIN too. They read it out, you confirm — receipt recorded, with a final "intact" or "damaged" mark.

If something goes wrong — wrong PIN, no-show, damage — the parcel's history shows exactly where the trail broke. No more "he said, she said." There is a witness.

Pay via Mobile Money. No auto-renewal — every month is a manual choice.
