Gravity Flow is a 2D space-management and progression game where gravity becomes the player’s main tool. Explore a connected solar system, capture objects into orbit, generate Gravity Energy, upgrade planets, survive dangerous space events, and gradually automate the entire system.
The game begins near Mercury, where players learn the basic gravity mechanics by pulling nearby objects such as asteroids, satellites, and space fragments toward a planet. When an object is successfully captured, it moves into orbit and begins contributing to the planet’s Flow Rate. Flow continuously generates Gravity Energy, which is used to improve planets, expand their capabilities, unlock new worlds, and build a stronger solar system.
Each planet has its own progression. Players can increase its level, expand its gravity range, unlock additional orbit capacity, and improve defensive capabilities. Stronger planets can capture more objects and generate greater amounts of Flow, but upgrades become progressively more expensive. This creates a long-term progression loop where players must decide whether to improve an existing planet, unlock another orbit slot, save for the next planet, or invest in automation.
The two main gravity abilities are Hold Gravity and Gravity Pulse.
Hold Gravity strengthens a planet’s gravitational pull and helps attract useful nearby objects toward its capture area. The visual gravity effect moves from the planet’s current gravity range inward toward the planet, making the active pull easy to understand.
Gravity Pulse works in the opposite direction. It sends an outward pulse from the planet toward the edge of its gravity range. This ability is especially useful for defending planets from incoming Meteors and controlling dangerous objects around the orbit area.
As the player progresses, the game introduces environmental hazards that make managing the solar system more challenging.
Solar Wind can destabilize captured objects and reduce orbit stability. During these events, players can use Hold Gravity to stabilize their planets and prevent orbiting objects from being lost.
Every planet has a Shield that absorbs incoming damage. When damaged, the shield needs time to recover. Managing shields becomes increasingly important as the player reaches the outer planets and encounters more difficult events.
The solar-system progression takes the player through:
Mercury → Venus → Earth → Moon → Mars → Jupiter → Saturn → Uranus → Neptune
Each new world requires significantly more Gravity Energy to unlock, creating a steadily increasing challenge. Players cannot simply open the entire solar system at once. They must repeatedly capture objects, build Flow, upgrade planets, and strengthen their economy before moving farther into space.
A major part of the later game is the Crew System.
Players can unlock four specialist roles:
Gravity Operator — automatically assists with Hold Gravity.
Orbit Technician — reduces orbit stability loss during Solar Wind.
Shield Engineer — improves shield recovery.
Pulse Defender — automatically activates Gravity Pulse to defend assigned planets from Meteors.
Crew specializations are unlocked using Dark Matter, a rarer currency. Once a specialization is hired, it can be assigned independently to multiple planets using Gravity Energy.
Each of the nine playable planetary targets can eventually receive all four Crew roles. This creates a total of 36 automation assignments.
