ShareARide

About this app

ShareARide connects drivers with empty seats to riders heading the same way — a safer, more affordable way to travel between South African towns and cities.

FOR RIDERS
• Search trips by route and date, or browse what's leaving near you
• Book a seat and pay securely by card, or arrange cash with your driver
• Track your driver live once your trip is under way
• Chat with your driver and fellow riders in a trip group chat
• Can't find a trip? Post a ride request — drivers can offer to match it
• Rate your trip and driver afterwards

FOR DRIVERS
• Post a trip in minutes — route, date, time, seats, price
• Every driver is verified before they can post: licence, PrDP, vehicle
details, and a criminal background check
• Manage booking requests and confirm riders
• Track your earnings and get paid out to your bank account
• Build your reputation through rider ratings

SAFETY FIRST
• All drivers go through document and background verification before
their first trip
• Live location tracking lets riders (and the people who care about them)
see exactly where a trip is, in real time
• Share your live location with anyone you choose, for extra peace of mind
• In-app group chat keeps trip communication in one place

Whether you're commuting between towns, heading home for the holidays, or just tired of the cost of driving alone, ShareARide helps you find your ride — or fill your empty seats.

What’s new

Better privacy: your phone number and email are no longer on your public profile. They're only shared with your driver or rider once a booking is accepted.
Drivers: see your earnings for this week or this month.
Drivers: reminders before your PrDP expires, plus a monthly earnings summary.
Driver sign-up now asks for interior and odometer photos, your home address and full bank details.
Your wallet only shows when it has a balance.
Bug fixes and improvements.
