About this app
Certify photos, videos, and documents with a cryptographic fingerprint and a verifiable digital signature, and optionally with an Aruba PEC eIDAS qualified timestamp.
ShieldSnap calculates the cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of your content and the ECDSA cryptographic signature, along with the date and time recorded by the server. If someone uses your content without permission, you have technical and documentary evidence to support its prior art.
HOW IT WORKS
Take a photo or record a video with the app's camera. ShieldSnap calculates the file's fingerprint and the ECDSA cryptographic signature. For videos, the fingerprint is calculated directly on your device; the video is never uploaded to our servers. Each certificate has a unique ID and is verifiable online.
PHOTO CERTIFICATION
- SHA-256 fingerprint and ECDSA P-256 cryptographic signature
- PDF certificate with server date and time and location detected by the device
- Verifiable online via ID or QR code
VIDEO CERTIFICATION
- SHA-256 fingerprint calculated on the phone: the video remains on your device
- PDF certificate with ECDSA signature and file fingerprint
- Unique ID for each certified video
PDF DOCUMENT CERTIFICATION
- Upload a PDF and certify it with an Aruba qualified timestamp
- The original document is not modified: ShieldSnap adds the certification pages
ARUBA QUALIFIED TIMESTAMP (optional) ⚖️
- Aruba PEC S.p.A. eIDAS qualified electronic timestamp
- PAdES format, directly in the PDF
- Certifies the existence of the document and the imprint contained therein at the specified date and time
- Available for photos and PDF documents at €1.29 per certification (single purchase, no subscription required)
TIME STAMP VERIFICATION
The timestamped PDF can be verified free of charge with ArubaSign, with InfoCert's signature verification, with Poste Italiane's FirmaOK!, or with Adobe Acrobat Reader (signature panel).
SECURITY
- Device verification: The server verifies that the request comes from the genuine ShieldSnap app.
- No files are ever overwritten.
- If the app closes or the network fails, certified photos, videos, and documents are recovered upon reopening, when possible.
PLANS
- Free: 5 photos per month, PDF certificate
- Pro (€2.99/month): Unlimited photos
- Plus: Unlimited photos and videos
- Aruba brand (optional, pay-per-use): €1.29 per certification.
ONLINE VERIFICATION
Each certificate has a unique ID that can be verified at www.shieldsnap.it/verify: anyone can verify the fingerprint and signature.
ShieldSnap does not provide legal advice: it offers you documentary evidence to support your rights.
