About this app

Protect your photos and videos with a digital certification and, optionally, a qualified eIDAS legal timestamp from Aruba PEC.

ShieldSnap certifies your content by calculating a cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) and applying an ECDSA cryptographic signature that links that fingerprint to the time of certification. If someone uses your content without permission, you have a useful technical and documentary evidence for a DMCA request or dispute.

HOW IT WORKS
Take a photo or record a video with the app. ShieldSnap calculates the file's digital fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) and the ECDSA cryptographic signature. For videos, the fingerprint is calculated directly on your device; the video is never uploaded to our servers. Each certificate has a unique ID and is verifiable online.

PHOTO CERTIFICATION
- SHA-256 fingerprint and ECDSA P-256 cryptographic signature
- PDF certificate with date, time, GPS location, and device model
- Verifiable online via ID or QR code

VIDEO CERTIFICATION
- SHA-256 fingerprint calculated locally: the video stays on your phone
- PDF certificate with ECDSA signature, metadata, and file fingerprint
- Unique ID for each certified video

ARUBA LEGAL TIME STAMP (optional) ⚖️
- eIDAS qualified electronic timestamp via Aruba PEC S.p.A.
- PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signature) format
- Presumption of date accuracy and data integrity pursuant to Article 41 of Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 (eIDAS)
- Available for each photo or video for €1.29 (one-time payment, no subscription)

ARUBA TIME STAMP VERIFICATION
The PAdES certificate can be verified free of charge:
- Aruba — ArubaSign online
- InfoCert — Signature verification
- Poste Italiane — FirmaOK! software
Alternatively, Adobe Acrobat Reader automatically displays the signature and timestamp in the signature panel.

ONLINE VERIFICATION
Each certificate has a unique ID that can be verified at www.shieldsnap.it/verify: anyone can check the fingerprint and signature on the document.
