What is Shortboxed?

Shortboxed is the most trusted marketplace and auction platform to buy and sell comic books. In addition to a thriving community with tens of thousands of buyers and sellers, there are also free tools and resources such as a price guide, portfolio manager, extensive data, and quality content to make buying and selling easy, safe, and fun.

How does buying and selling work?

For the marketplace, vetted dealers, comic shop owners, and collectors list their comic books for sale on Shortboxed while buyers browse and discover tens of thousands of comic books, both graded and ungraded. When someone buys a book, the seller receives an order confirmation with a pre-paid shipping label. Sellers get paid once the book is confirmed delivered. Our seller fee is a flat 10% - no hidden fees or shenanigans. Super simple!

For event style auctions, approved sellers send in their books to Shortboxed before an auction is curated. Once the auction event is live, buyers can bid on items until the closing time. Once an auction event ends, winners will receive an invoice to pay before receiving their items.

Great for seller's and buyer's! I have done both sides of the site, and seriously, who doesn't love not having to pay sales tax? And for seller's, no more worrying about shipping costs!! The fee's are lower too! And, all book's are insured with expert liability insurance! Great for those high value book's! It has a built in price index for buyer's can make informed decisions! It really does make buying and selling slabs a whole lot easier! Give it a try!!

ACH processing takes 4-7 days, but says 2-4. Says it ships in 2-3 days, but they take more like 2-3 weeks. Some Sellers won't even ship if the auction didn't sell for enough for them, and they aren't penalized in any way by Shortboxed. There is no way to message sellers, so you just have to hope they'll send your package correctly. This platform does not have reviews so you have no way of warning other buyers of a bad seller(skip CapeandCowl). Clearly built with sellers in mind, not buyers.

Great site to buy thru. No higher prices on items, like feeBay, so the seller can cover their charges. Want a better price? Then simply make an offer to the seller. You are dealing direct - no middle man. Its easy to search for desired items, see the grade and check with grading company for more info on condition. Same day you'll get tracking info and can follow its arrival to your collection. And these guys are quick to respond for any assistance.
