About this app

Founded by Álvaro Pedro and Milton Lemos, Rádio Aruanã was a pioneer in the city of Barra do Garças. It appeared in 1978 with the prefix 1.480 AM, to change the history of communication in the largest city in Araguaia. The Barra Garcense population now has a reference. News, music and entertainment began to be propagated on the airwaves of Rádio Emissora Aruanã.
Listeners were enchanted by communicators who came from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and began to speak the names of people, neighborhoods and local streets. That was impressive. Until then, the population only listened to broadcasters from abroad, such as Brasil Central and Anhanguera, from Goiânia; Nacional, from Brasília; Globo, from Rio de Janeiro and Bandeirantes and Record, from São Paulo.

Following the city's facts and curiosities on the radio waves greatly influenced the population and contributed greatly to the progress of the municipality and consequently the Araguaia Valley.

At the end of the 80s, Rádio Aruanã modernized by changing its prefix to 560 and acquiring a more powerful transmitter to stay ahead of the newly arrived competitor.

Since then, Rádio Aruanã has gained a lot of coverage, its signal reaches more than 30 municipalities and always remains in the lead. It received 11 consecutive Mérito Lojista awards, such as best AM Radio. Award promoted annually by the CDL of Barra do Garças.

In 2018, the year in which it turned 40, the radio migrated to the 102.1 FM frequency with cutting-edge equipment and high-level professionals, changing its name to Aruanã FM.
Its objective is to remain the radio with the greatest tradition and reach in the region, with popular, interactive and high-quality programming.

Aruanã FM is the only Class E3 broadcaster in the region with a power of 60kW, reaching a radius of 200km covering 51 municipalities with an audience of 290,000 people in Mato Grosso and 333,000 in Goiás.
