About this game

Get the world champion. Have fun and improve your play. You can play against Shredder, analyze with him and solve chess puzzles. It offers the usual Shredder standard for your pocket.

In addition to the outstanding playing strength of the 19 times computer chess world champion, Shredder is also able to mimic the play of a human chess player with any playing strength. He even deliberately makes typical human mistakes in those levels.

Solve 1000 built in chess puzzles. Shredder keeps track of your performance and offers advice if needed.

You can adjust Shredder’s playing strength from beginner to master level. If you like, Shredder automatically adjusts his strength to yours. He even calculates an Elo rating for you. This is how the playing strength of chess players is typically measured.

During the game a coach is watching your moves and warns you if you are about to make a mistake.

Ratings and reviews

The interface used to be pretty nice, but they changed it- and really ruined it. The settings you choose don't work. like muting the sound. it may have to do with recent android updates. I hope it gets fixed soon.

I like the game but I find the 'TACTICS' mode a bit lacking. In the game mode you cannot move onto an invalid square. In the tactics mode there is a huge, annoying dialog that pops up to tell you. An invalid move should be represented by the target square going red. When the problem has been completed an other huge dialog appears to tell you. This should not cover the board as one wants to review the moves and check the final position to learn what the best moves were.

I have to say a big thank you to the Shredder team. I've been using your engine for as long as I can remember and i really appreciate that you keep developing this and other software. It makes a difference. Quite unlike good old CB whose apps are dying and the ones that were bought no longer work on modern phones.
