Turn moving lights into glowing words, flowing shapes and light-trail photographs. Light Paint is a light painting camera for photographers and artists who want to watch their work take shape as they shoot.

Move a flashlight, LED or other light source through a dark scene and see the trails build in real time. Keep the phone steady, experiment with movement, and shape the result while you capture.

SEE YOUR LIGHT PAINTING LIVE
Live frame blending combines successive camera frames into an evolving picture. Adjust trail length, blending, comet behavior and glow to create the look you want. Build a full painting or explore trails that fade as the light moves.

Light Paint creates long exposure-style effects computationally. The accumulated trail is made from multiple frames, rather than one continuously open shutter. Manual shutter speed controls the individual camera exposures within your device's supported range.

TAKE ARTISTIC CONTROL
Set shutter speed, ISO, focus and white balance on supported cameras. Balance the scene against your light source, adjust the color, and use built-in camera profiles as a starting point. Available lenses and manual controls depend on your phone.

CAPTURE PHOTOS, VIDEO AND TIME LAPSE
Save a still light painting, record moving trails in video, or create a time-lapse of your performance. Review your captures in the media gallery and continue working with recorded footage in the video editor.

PERFORM TO MUSIC
Choose a track from the music catalog and bring it into the camera. Perform to Track connects song playback with your capture workflow so you can plan the movement around the music.

Use Blend Choreography to schedule changes to frame blending, comets, glow, zoom and trail resets on a timeline. Rehearse the sequence and refine how the picture changes through the song.

EXPLORE THE 3D LIGHT PAINTING STUDIO
Build and preview virtual scenes with performers, lights and motion takes. Explore movement, light placement and timing in a 3D workspace to develop ideas for your next light painting session.

MADE FOR CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
Experiment with light writing, LED performances and night photography centered on moving lights. Start in a dark space with a steady phone and a simple light source, then explore the camera controls, music and Studio at your own pace.

Requires Android 12 or later, Camera2 FULL or LEVEL_3 camera support, and OpenGL ES 3.1. Google Play determines availability for your device. Lens access, manual controls, capture sizes and performance vary by phone.
