About this app

Signup Square Entry is the door scanner for events that sell tickets through Signup Square. When guests arrive, point the camera at the QR code on their ticket and the app checks them in on the spot, with no button to press and no list to scroll through. A green flash and a buzz mean the guest is in; a red flash means the ticket was already used or has been voided, and the screen tells you when and at which door it was scanned. If a scan was a mistake, one tap undoes it. Staff can keep scanning at the pace people walk up, and the app quietly ignores the same ticket held in front of the camera twice.

Setting up takes seconds and needs no account on the device. Each event has a door code on its Check-in page in Signup Square; type it or scan it, and the device is paired to that event and nothing else. Pair as many phones and tablets as you have doors, and every one of them sees the same live picture: how many guests are in, how many tickets were issued, and the breakdown by ticket type. The Change button on the scanner returns a device to the pairing screen whenever it is needed for a different event. Because pairing is by door code rather than by login, a volunteer can run a door without ever touching your organizer account.

Not every guest arrives with a ticket ready. Search finds an attendee by name or email and checks them in from the list, and Enter code accepts a ticket code typed by hand when a screen is cracked or a printout is smudged. The Settings tab shows the event details, with the venue address one tap away in your maps app, plus the live counts and a refresh button. Signup Square Entry works with any event created in Signup Square that has tickets, and it needs an internet connection so that check-ins are recorded immediately and shared across every device at the door. It is free for Signup Square organizers and their staff.
