A VR player for the 360°, 180° and 3D videos on your phone: it detects a layout for each video, tells you where that layout came from so you can switch in one tap, and your viewer fit is saved once for all of them.
▶ DETECTED LAYOUT, AND WHY
• When you add a video, the app reads its spherical file data (written by many 360° cameras and tools), then words in the file name (360, 180, fisheye, sbs, lr, tb, ou, 3dh…), then the frame shape (2:1 is usually 360°).
• Each video shows a badge such as 360° · SBS and the reason: file data, file name, frame shape or your choice. A guess carries an amber dot.
• If the file name says one thing and the file data another, the app tells you and switches with one tap.
• Change it in one tap: Flat, Screen, 180°, 360° or Fisheye (180°, 190°, 200° or 220°) × Mono, Side-by-side or Top-bottom, plus Half width / height and Swap eyes.• Your choice is kept for that video. The next video never resets it.
▶ VIEWER FIT YOU SET ONCE
• Split view draws one picture per eye for phone VR viewers.
• In Headset fit, cross-hairs mark each lens center while you set eye spacing (50–75 mm, measured from your screen's real density), the vertical offset between the eyes (±6 mm), picture size (70–100 %), view angle (60–110°) and an optional lens warp (Light or Strong).
• Save up to 8 named profiles. The default profile is used for every video.
▶ LOOK AROUND YOUR WAY
• Tracking: Motion turns the view with your phone, Touch lets you drag instead, Off keeps the view still — handy when lying down.
• Recenter with a button, a double-tap, or a long-press in Split view. In Lying down mode, the way you face becomes the center.
• Pinch to change the view angle. Controls hide after 3 seconds.
▶ PLAYBACK
• Picks up where you left off, with Start over one tap away.
• Back 10 s / forward 10 s, speed from 0.5× to 2×, and audio track choice when a file has more than one.
• Flat videos can play on a big virtual screen in a dark room, or as Flat (one eye).
• A generated test sphere lets you try the views and your fit without a file.
▶ YOUR FILES
• Add videos with the system file picker, or add a whole folder (up to 3 levels deep, 500 files per scan). SD card and USB files work when the picker shows them.
• The app keeps a reference and a read permission, never a copy. Removing an entry never deletes the file, and Undo is there for 5 seconds.
• Up to 5,000 videos, sorted by Recent, Name or Longest, with a Continue row.
• Export a settings backup (settings, fit profiles, layout choices and playback positions, no video) and restore it on another phone.
▶ GOOD TO KNOW
• Orbit VR plays video files on your phone; there is no online playback.
• Playback depends on this phone's decoder. When a video is added, the app checks its codec and frame size and names the limit. Very large files may still stutter.
• Cubemap and custom-mesh 360° files and interleaved 3D are not supported: they are shown flat or as mono, and the app says so.
• Lens warp is an approximate correction; tune it by eye.
• The motion sensor usually has no compass reference, so a slow sideways drift can build up over a long video. Double-tap to recenter.
• Take breaks and stop if you feel dizzy. Not for children under 7 in a VR viewer.
• Videos are read and processed on your phone and never uploaded. No sign-in, and no camera, microphone or location permission.
• Banner ads appear on the library screen, never in the player or Headset fit. Every layout and setting is included.
