ChessEye improves your rating through chess visualization and calculation training. Old chess masters got stronger through self play, analysis, playing strong opponents and analyzing games with them. ChessEye make you a stronger player by replicating the same process.

ChessEye is suitable for all rating ranges from 1000-2400. It is a must for all tournament chess players and online chess players serious about improving their game.

❌ TACTIC TRAINERS ARE FLAWED

A normal tactics trainer might tell you play as white and win. It might also show the theme of a puzzle. E.g. Mate-in-1, Mate-in-2, smothered mate, distraction, decoy, pin, fork, skewer, sacrifice, discovered attack, interception, x-ray and under-promotion etc. This is different from a chess game because

❌ You already know there is a chess tactic in the position.
❌ Neglects Chess strategy, planning and defense.
❌ It can build bad calculation habits.
❌ Positions have only correct move.
❌ There's no incentive to calculate till the end in your mind. You can guess.

💪 CALCULATE LIKE A CHESS GAME

ChessEye gives a random mix of positions. You have to visualize the chessboard, calculate variations & come up with a plan. Then, you enter your moves with algebraic notation or by drawing arrows. You cannot move the pieces. This approach has many advantages:

5/5 ⭐! It was a bit confusing at first (I expected that from the comments), but it's not hard to use. I didn't realize that you needed to make multiple moves if it's not a mating pattern. Pros: Challenging, Free! (not fremium, but ad-free free), varied exercises, good explanation of mechanics, great calculation training, allows you to compete against friends. Cons: Might be too challenging for new players, doesnt show why moves are good/bad Thanks to the developer.

I really like this thus far! It's a little opaque/unclear how everything works at first, but there is lot of functionality packed into the app. A couple notes: the app does "throw you in the deep end". If you're finding the puzzles too difficult, start with the "Board Vision" tab to build the basics. Also, one critique: if there is a way to review/analyse a puzzle attempt, I didn't see it (Edit: It's there, I missed it!). That preserves puzzles to re-try, but I'd love more feedback on solves.

I want to like it, but starting off 1st puzzle the interface doesn't make much sense. My moves in green, the try again and next button below, but everything between those two doesn't make relational sense. Below all that is a "spoiler" consisting of a fen board notation and the eval "You're better". Ridiculous and useless spoiler. Show me better moves. How many moves do we input, do we play the entire game in our heads? Who knows? I replay the first puzzle, same moves and get a different score.
