Open everyday documents with a simple, local file viewer.

Simple File Viewer opens files you choose through Android's system file picker. View PDFs, common images, plain text, supported Word and Excel documents, and files inside ZIP archives.

VIEW YOUR FILES
• Read multipage PDFs and zoom in up to 8×.
• View common images, including JPG, PNG and WebP. GIF images display a still frame.
• Read selectable text, CSV, JSON, XML, HTML, Markdown and source-code files. HTML and Markdown are shown as source text.
• Preview supported DOC, DOCX, XLS and XLSX documents locally.
• Browse ZIP folders and open individual supported entries.
• Find text in supported documents. Text-layer search in external PDFs requires Android 15 or newer.

PRINT, SHARE AND SAVE COPIES
• Print supported PDFs, images and document previews through Android's print system.
• Share the original file or open it in another application you choose.
• Save supported Word and Excel previews as PDF copies.
• Rotate or crop images and save a new PNG copy.
• Rotate, reorder or remove pages in supported PDFs and save a new PDF copy.

Your original files remain unchanged. Share sends the original file; use Save a copy to keep supported adjustments.

LOCAL PROCESSING
The current version has no advertisements, accounts, analytics or developer-operated uploads. Viewing and document adjustments run on your device. The app requests no Internet or broad storage permission. Files are accessed through the system picker. Sharing, printing and cloud document providers you choose may use their own services and privacy practices.

SUPPORTED DOCUMENTS AND LIMITS
Word and Excel previews support a limited set of document layouts and formatting. They are not full Office editors. Complex layouts, unsupported fonts or features, encrypted documents, and files exceeding safety limits may require another app. Formulas are not recalculated and macros are not executed. PowerPoint files are not rendered. Images and exported copies can have reduced resolution or omit metadata.

Requires Android 8.0 or newer. Some features depend on the Android version and installed document or print providers.
