Lagat keeps the accounts of a house being built.

Not a general expense app pressed into service. It is built for the way a house actually goes up here: cement and sariya bought by the load, a civil contractor paid in instalments, labour marked present every morning, shuttering hired by the day and returned in batches.

WHAT IT KEEPS

• Expenses — a dated ledger of what was bought, from whom, at what rate, and how much of it is still unpaid. Photograph the bill and it stays with the entry.

• Party accounts — every supplier, contractor and tradesman with a running balance. What was billed, what has been paid, what is still owed, and when they were last paid. Open anyone and see their whole history.

• Labour attendance — mark the crew present, half-day or absent. Wages build up at each person's own daily rate. Record what you hand over and the app carries the balance forward, so nobody argues about last week.

• Rentals — shuttering plates, baans, balli, a generator, a lift. Record what came onto site and what went back. The rent works itself out, by the day or by the month, and appears in your expenses against the vendor. Correct a date and every figure that depended on it is recalculated.

• Budget — set the area and a rate per square foot. Watch the cost per sq ft move as the build goes on, category by category.

• Reports — spend by month, by category, by party. Export to Excel or PDF and send it to whoever is asking.

SHARE A BILL STRAIGHT IN

Paid on UPI, or photographed the bill? Share it into Lagat from the gallery or from your payment app and it reads the amount, the date, who it was paid to and how — then files it as an expense, as a payment against a party, or onto a bill you already entered. Nothing is saved until you have checked it.

IT WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL

Everything is written to your own phone first. Sites have bad signal and the app does not care — enter it now, it is saved now. Cloud sync is there if you want a backup or a second person on the books, and it is entirely optional.

ENGLISH AND HINDI

Switch language whenever you like. The Hindi is the vocabulary used on site — मज़दूरी, सरिया, बल्ली, ठेकेदार — not a dictionary translation of English accounting words.

IF YOU ARE BUILDING YOUR OWN HOUSE

Keep the whole thing straight yourself. What the plot has cost so far, what each supplier is owed, whether you are ahead of or behind your budget, and what the house is working out to per square foot.

IF YOU BUILD FOR OTHERS

Keep a crew across your sites, mark attendance, settle wages, and hand a labourer their own login so they can mark their own day with a photo and a location stamp. They see their own attendance and their own dues — never another worker's, and never your accounts.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

No advertisements. No trackers. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. The ledger on your phone is yours, and it keeps working whether or not you ever sign in.
