The history of the union begins when in the mid-70s, more precisely in 1974, the then cleaning assistant Milton Carlos Sanches began his journey as a health worker at the Sorocaba Regional Hospital, which at the time belonged to the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, PUC SP.
In 1977, when the Regional Hospital was incorporated by the state, Milton chose to continue at Puc, now in a new role, warehouse and pharmacy, in 1980 he joined the nursing team, and in a short time due to his behavior in defense of workers Milton was elected to lead the Association of PUC workers in Sorocaba, beginning a historic journey in defense of workers, even commanding the first health strike in the private area of Sorocaba, paralyzing the Santa Lucinda Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine for 15 days, when, among other advantages, stability was established for all Puc workers, which lasted 10 long years.
In 1989 Milton was elected union delegate by the São Paulo health union, at the time being responsible for around 80 cities in the state of SP. in 1990 elected to the deliberative council of the São Paulo Union. In 1993, Mr. Lião, President of the São Paulo Health Union and holder of the base in the Sorocaba region, accepted Milton's idea of creating four new unions within the São Paulo base, namely Sorocaba, Santo André, Osasco and Guarulhos, thus creating SINSAUDE SOROCABA on October 13, 1983.
Between its foundation and until 1997, Sorocaba was still administratively linked to the São Paulo Health Union, due to a lack of financial conditions, considering that all the collection was made for São Paulo, when finally, after extensive negotiations, we achieved administrative political release, and Thus, we began a journey of struggle and defense for the workers of Sorocaba and the region, until we reach the present day with several achievements, the greatest of which is the heritage “the worker's house”, SINSAUDE's own headquarters.
