About this app

Skeinote is a local, personal notepad based on the concept of interconnected cards. It's designed to help you collect, organize, and link your ideas into clear, sequential threads, while maintaining complete privacy for your data on your device without requiring an internet connection.

Who it's for:

Skeinote is designed for writers, researchers, students, decision-makers, and anyone who needs a quiet environment to organize ideas and projects and follow up on personal inquiries without distractions or reliance on external cloud servers.

Key features implemented in the app:

• Atomic Card Notes: A Markdown-compatible editor with continuous local autosave, automatic draft saving and retrieval upon exit, and a complete history of previous versions for each card.

• Inbox and Quick Capture: A dedicated interface for capturing new thoughts and cards as they come to you, with support for keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation and capture.

• Explicit Links and Backlinks: The ability to manually create two-way links between cards, specifying the link's meaning (reference, endorsement, contradiction, or continuation), and reviewing incoming and outgoing links in a dedicated context panel.

• Threads: Organize cards into thematic paths and groups dedicated to projects, decisions, or questions, with precise manual sorting and an optional two-dimensional canvas for arranging cards with visual axes.

• Notes and Daily Pages: A daily calendar for organizing cards and journal entries, with easy navigation between days and assigning notes to their dates.

• Decision Documentation and Tracking: A structured model for recording decisions, including the options presented, the reasons for each choice, and the expected outcome, along with scheduling periodic reviews and monitoring the decision's status.

• Independent Review Queues:

- Question Review Queue: A dedicated space for open-ended questions that you add at your discretion without any automatic categorization, to track and resolve inquiries.

- • Queue for Reviewing Postponed Ideas: Schedule specific dates to revisit ideas later and reactivate them when they are fully developed.

• Advanced Local Search and Precise Arabic Support: Instant full-text search (FTS) with intelligent Arabic character processing, including diacritics removal, elongation correction, and standardization of hamza, ta' marbuta, and alif maqsurah forms, along with filters to refine results and a search saving feature.

• Transparent Local Suggestions: A local, rule-based mechanism that matches cards with shared tags or titles without relying on artificial intelligence or external servers.

• Local Backup and Import: Export and import data in JSON format for an exact copy, or in Markdown format for sharing and reading, with data integrity verification and automatic saving of conflicting copies without overwriting existing cards.

Privacy and Offline Operation:

Skeinote operates on a Local-First principle: - No account creation or login is required, and the developer does not send your data to a server. The app processes the text you enter locally.

- Completely free of ads, subscriptions, trackers, and analytics software.

- The published version does not require internet access. Data remains within the app's private space unless you choose to export a file to a separate destination.

Focused User Experience:
Skeinote provides a concise and comfortable note-taking experience focused on clarity of thought and building your knowledge network, giving you complete control over your notes and decisions.
