About this app

Skewered Fencing is the companion app for your Skewered Fencing scoring box. Today, it turns any phone or tablet into a live repeater for the strip.

Keep an eye on the action from anywhere near the strip. The app listens over Bluetooth for nearby Skewered Fencing scoring boxes and mirrors their state in real time — no pairing, no setup, and no cables.

What you'll see for every box: • Live weapon lights — valid and non-valid touches for foil, épée, and sabre • Score for both fencers, with the most recent change highlighted • The match clock, period, and break timers • Priority and passivity (P-card) timers • Yellow, red, and penalty cards on each side • Short-circuit and fault indicators

Built for the strip: • Watch several boxes at once — ideal for coaches, organizers, and DE tables • Each box is labeled by strip number for quick identification • Color-code boxes so your strips are easy to tell apart • Sleeping boxes dim automatically so active bouts stand out • The screen stays awake while you're watching • Dark and light themes, with portrait and landscape layouts

Simple and private: The app only listens to the signals your scoring box already broadcasts. It doesn't connect to, pair with, or change anything on your box, and it doesn't collect your data.

Requires a Skewered Fencing scoring box and a device with Bluetooth Low Energy.

New: control your scoring box from your phone!

Pair with a box over Bluetooth and run the bout from a remote keypad — adjust the score, control the clock, and use the mode/select keys — while watching a live mirror of the box's lights, score, and timer. Your phone shows up on the box by name (customizable from the menu), and the app guides you through pairing — and re-pairing if a box ever forgets it.

Requires scoring box firmware 528 or later.
