SKF Insight Rail is a cloud-based, condition monitoring system that uses stand-alone, cellular wireless, self-powered sensors (CMWR 23) to check for wheel and bearing defects on passenger-rail train bogies. Its advanced fault detection technology provides rail operators with actionable information to anticipate issues before they develop into failures.

The SKF Insight Rail Manager Application has been designed to allow users to commission and manage all aspects of each CMWR 23 sensor, using a combination of NFC (tap-to activate) communications and a simple intuitive user interface.

The APP can also be configured to allow users to determine the condition status of any wheel (or wheel bearing), by simply tapping on the associated CMWR 32 sensor and waiting for a health report to be downloaded from SKF. This also has the advantage of allowing maintenance teams to confirm the actual fault location before commencing any scheduled work.

For ANDROID devices that do not natively support NFC, SKF provides full support for the CMWR 32 commissioning using an external NFC reader (FEIG ECCO+ HF/R)
