Works exactly as advertised, I don't know why people say it doesn't work. It would be nice if there was a magnetic field visualisation or at least clarification if the compass points towards the magnetic source or points with the magnetic field. EDIT: the compass points with the field not towards the source. Also the app needs to have a phone with a magnetic sensor to work (obviously) that's likely the source of all the comments. You can check with the app "sensors multitool"
