The WABE Public Broadcasting App allows you to watch and listen to all of WABE’s programs, Radio and TV! The app provides On-Demand content of all your favorite TV and radio shows, live streaming of the radio channels, PBS Kids! content with parental controls, easy access to the live radio and TV program schedule plus the ability to explore additional content!

Live Radio Streaming
• DVR-like controls (pause, rewind, and fast forward). You can pause the live stream to have a conversation and pick up right where you left off! Or rewind to catch a comment you just missed.
• Listen to live streams from WABE even while traveling! Open the app and your favorite station starts playing – no matter where you are.

This app is going to drive me to buy a radio. The audio stream cuts in and out, stopping for anywhere from around 1 to 30 seconds, every few minutes. I can stream HD video on the same wifi connection with no problems, so I know this is not a bandwidth issue. Additionally, on starting to stream, it pops up a full-screen, unclosable ad.

Repeatedly while taking a walk, it seems that whenever my phone tries to ping nearby Wi-Fi networks, this app will abandon my mobile data, drop out the feed, and pause. But since I'm walking it doesn't manage to connect to the Wi-Fi, and so I have to manually start the feed again. Whenever I do, it runs another ad, and then somehow the pitch of all of the sounds have gone up by half an octave or something, and then there is regular high-pitched squeaking. Please fix.

WABE is an amazing station, but I've always found the app to be a bit lacking. I've reinstalled the app several times over the years and used different devices, but I've always run into a lot of bugs while using the app. For example, if I pause the or even stop a segment without completely exiting out of the app, it will play again on it's own, in about 5-10 minutes.
