The only streaming platform that offers a la carte tv. I would say that's close to true. Quality has gotten better. App works much better as well. Keeps it up. Not quite yet 5 stars. Allow me to view tv and the guide at the same time and maybe.
I've been Happy with the service for more than a couple of years. When there were issues with the app or Roku service Sling was on it. I notice improvements to service from time to time. As long as the prices stay the same, I'll stick with service.
I just wish for money that I pay I could get the basic/local channels, CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC. I pay for blue and orange packages, for a sec had been paying for the HBO package as well. You'd think they'd solved a way to get us those basic/local channels by now.. Other than that, I've enjoyed SlingTV for the last 2-3 years.. :)
I've had sling since they launched. I got the roku stick with my subscription and to put it simply the service has never worked. I find myself calling support at least once a month due to no picture, freezing picture, unable to change channels without rebooting, very low res picture, etc. It's always something. Tablet app and cell phone dont load, ever .Today I made my monthly call to support as the picture goes black after about 2 minutes of watching and then refuses to reload. Her solution was to lower the resolution which gave me a very poor quality image. The "care" agent said she would send my case to trouble shooting yet again. I explained that I have complained about these issues many times in the past and that they have never been corrected. That I was promised at each call that someone would contact me & follow up, the last agent even said they would look into replacing the roku stick they no longer support with a current model and I never heard back. This agent said that their policy is never to follow up on trouble tickets and that either I or every agent I've spoken to over the past two years was wrong to insinuate they do. Her solution? Cancel if I'm not happy. I DID.
Terrible experience with Sling TV and would not recommend to anyone. I did the free trial and tried to cancel. We never got the confirmation email and called to check the status. We were told it was too late and our account was charged. How convenient they never sent the email.... The manager was awful to deal with and told us to not bother calling back because we weren't getting a refund. I've reached out to them multiple times with the same SOL response. Never ever again. The service is spotty and cuts out constantly and they have terrible customer experience, no thanks my money will go elsewhere.
This is easily one of the buggiest apps that has gone into production. I'm guessing developers push their feature to production directly with QA. It's so bad
