KEY FUNCTIONALITY:

Verify Installation provides SmartDrive authorized installers a guided a step-by-step workflow to assist them with installing and verifying a SR4 installation before the vehicle gets on the road.

• Run Self-Check enables authorized installers and technicians to confirm the health of the SR4
• Make real-time field of view adjustments with the SR4 and 360 camera views.
• View Debug helps authorized technicians to troubleshoot potential issues on the spot by providing access to relevant debug information


DATA COLLECTION AND TRANSMISSION

SmartDrive Technician collects information related to the described functionality from the SR4 over a secure Bluetooth connection. Installation data, inclusive of: device health information captured over the Bluetooth interface, and still images captured by the SmartRecorder 4 and sent to the application over the secure Bluetooth link. SmartDrive Technician requires access to location for certain Android OS versions in order to access Bluetooth.

Yeah, it works. Kinda. Sometimes. If you're really super patient. It will get the job done but the app loses connection and won't connect for ages. I've learned that using 2-3 phones with the app helps a lot, when it loses connection usually one of the other devices is able to connect, which takes the time sink from 15-20 minutes down to about 5-10.

Been using this for over a year. And it only gets worse. Timeouts half way through installs. Connection error. See developer error. Never works for 2 trucks in a row. Been deleting and redownloading every truck.

Always have trouble hooking to and finding smart recorders, also it will randomly disconnect from smart recorders in the middle of qa check. If I didn't have to use this app I would never download it. Worst support app I've ever used.
