About this game

Open it, tap the piano – and in half a minute you are playing Ode to Joy.

PlayTune is a music game for everyone who wants to play real tunes without reading notes first. Pick an instrument, follow the glowing keys and the falling notes, and play. Learn the rest as you go.

8 INSTRUMENTS, EACH WITH ITS OWN SCREEN
• Piano – two octaves of coloured keys, black keys, chords with several fingers, glissando
• Guitar and ukulele – strum across the strings, chord buttons in colour, single strings for melodies
• Drum kit – kick, snare, hi-hat, toms, crash and ride, multi-touch
• Xylophone / marimba, kalimba, handpan and harp – relaxing sounds, glowing bars, tines and strings

START HERE – A TUTORIAL FOR EVERY INSTRUMENT
Two minutes, one sentence per step, and you play right away. Then a path of lessons from the very beginning: first notes, rhythm, chords, both hands, black keys, tempo – every lesson ends with a piece of a famous tune.

60+ FAMOUS TUNES
Ode to Joy, Für Elise, Canon in D, the Blue Danube, Radetzky March, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Swan Lake, Greensleeves, Amazing Grace, Jingle Bells, Silent Night and many more – classical, folk and holiday music, all in our own new arrangements.

THREE WAYS TO PLAY A SONG
• Learn – the song waits for every note
• Play – in tempo with falling notes, Perfect / Good / Miss, combo and up to 3 stars
• Listen – hear it first with the lights
Tempo 50 / 75 / 100 %, loop a hard part, metronome and a backing band you can switch off, note names (C D E or Do Re Mi) and simple notation if you like.

EXERCISES AND A DAILY CHALLENGE
Repeat the melody, tap the rhythm, name the note, interval or chord, scales, chords on time and a 30-second speed run. One song and one exercise every day – keep your streak going.

PLAYS LIKE AN INSTRUMENT
Every note sounds the moment you touch it, with low latency; play with several fingers at once. A latency calibration helps with Bluetooth headphones. Everything plays offline.

FREE WITH ADS – OR ONE PAYMENT WITHOUT
All 8 instruments, tutorials, lessons, free play, exercises and the daily challenge are free. About a third of the songs are open from the start; unlock any other song for good by watching a short video. One payment removes the ads and opens every song – no subscription.
