The SMUD App offers our residential customers easy access to the things that are most important to you when it comes to home energy usage. We want your experience to be fast and simple, so once you sign in, you'll stay signed in on your device until you sign out, no matter how many times you visit.

the app has always been unstable for years, but I have been completely unable to use it for the past 3 months. shortly after loading your account info, the app closes without an error message and logs you out, forcing you to repeat the process ad infinitum. just go online to pay your bill.

04/23/26: STILL auto closes! DOES NOT WORK. The app will open, but when trying any functions, such as pay bill or view usage, the app auto closes. It has been like this for several months. FIX, please.

Very clean, easy to navigate. Really like that there is an app now. The only thing that would make it better is integration with Nest Thermostat Time of Savings. That would be super helpful going into summer with the Time of Day rate - making it easier to save on A/C costs. Otherwise, very pleased with the new app.
