About this app

SniperTAK is a plugin for ATAK-CIV. It turns rifle and ammunition data, the current atmospheric conditions and a target picked on the map into a firing solution, without leaving the map.

The plugin adds its own panel to ATAK. It works offline and opens no network connections of its own.

FIRING SOLUTION
- Tap the map to set a target; distance and azimuth fill in on their own
- Elevation and windage in mils, recalculated after every change
- Detailed ballistics: maximum ordinate, first and second zero, transonic and subsonic transition, total drop, velocity and energy at the target
- Solutions up to 2000 m

OBSERVATION POST
- Calculate from your own position or from a separate observation post
- Target table with elevation, windage, azimuth, distance, height and hit probability
- Range card and export
- Bullet path drawn on the map from the shooter to every target, with the rise visible once you tilt the map

BALLISTIC TABLES
- 100 to 2000 m in 100 m steps: elevation, windage, drop, time of flight, hit probability

RIFLE AND AMMUNITION
- Profiles holding zero distance, scope height, muzzle velocity, bullet weight, ballistic coefficient with drag model, twist rate and direction
- Changing a profile or a single parameter recalculates every result

CONDITIONS
- Wind speed and direction, temperature, pressure, humidity, density altitude
- Interactive wind arrow you set with a gesture
- Live readings from a Kestrel 5700 weather meter over Bluetooth. The readings are displayed; they do not enter the calculation yet
- Distance measured with a Vortex Impact 4000 rangefinder over Bluetooth, as a single measurement or a batch that becomes targets

TOOLS
- WEZ: hit probability computed from your input uncertainties, split into horizontal and vertical spread, naming the largest contributor. Target presets for head, torso, silhouette, vehicle, and custom dimensions
- Barricade: whether the bullet clears an opening, with the vertical and horizontal margin in centimetres
- Speed drop: one dial-in setting after which holding D/100 mil hits the target, with the distance range where the rule stays inside your tolerance

WHAT YOU NEED
ATAK-CIV 5.8 installed on the same device. SniperTAK is a plugin and has no interface of its own outside ATAK.

What’s new

The plugin now works with ATAK 5.5, 5.7 and 5.8. It previously required version 5.8. No other changes.
