About this app

BeadWright turns any photo into a fuse bead pattern you can actually build —
and then helps you build it, bead by bead.

Most bead pattern apps fall down in the same three places: they choke on large
patterns, their colour matching turns photos into mud, and they lock export
behind ads or a subscription. BeadWright is built to fix exactly those.

HANDLES BIG PATTERNS
Pan and zoom a 500×500 grid without stutter or crashes. The canvas is rendered
in tiles, so a quarter-million beads feel the same as a hundred.

COLOUR MATCHING THAT LOOKS LIKE THE PHOTO
Conversion works in the CIE Lab* colour space with CIEDE2000 colour-difference
matching — the same maths print shops use — plus Floyd-Steinberg dithering with
an adjustable strength. Skin tones and gradients stay recognisable instead of
collapsing into blocks. Tune brightness, contrast and saturation, cap the number
of colours, crop, and preview before you commit. Press and hold the preview to
compare against the original.

REAL PATTERN EDITOR
Brush, eraser, flood fill, colour picker, line, rectangle, circle, rectangular
select with copy / cut / paste, horizontal and vertical mirror, outline, and
canvas resize from any edge. Unlimited undo and redo.

BUILT-IN PALETTES + YOUR OWN
Ships with Hama Midi, Perler and Artkal C palettes. Own only part of a set?
Build a custom palette from the colours you actually have and convert straight
into it — no more patterns calling for beads that are sitting in a shop.

COLOUR USAGE AND SHOPPING LIST
See every colour in the pattern with its bead count and percentage, tap one to
highlight it on the canvas, and swap one colour for another everywhere at once.

ASSEMBLY MODE
Building from a phone screen is where patterns go wrong. Assembly mode splits
the grid into sections, walks you row by row with run-length counts ("black ×7,
white ×3"), and remembers exactly where you stopped.

EXPORT WITHOUT LIMITS
PNG at any size, and PDF with a full colour list and bead counts for shopping.
No watermark, no resolution cap, no "upgrade to export".

COMPLETELY OFFLINE AND PRIVATE
BeadWright requests no permissions at all — not even internet access. It
literally cannot send your photos or patterns anywhere. No ads, no analytics,
no account, no subscription. Everything stays on your device.

• Real size, not cells — finished size, pegboards and beads when converting, on the cards and in the colour list, with 1/4/9/16-board presets
• Remove background — it is left empty, only the subject uses beads
