Snug: Private Notes & Journal

DinDon Digital Labs

About this app

Snug is a warm, private room for your mind. A calm, beautiful place to think, write, and keep your notes truly yours.

Most note apps store your thoughts in a cold cloud that isn't yours. Snug is different. It's local-first: your notes live on your device, off the grid, in open Markdown you can read for years, with or without Snug.

WHY SNUG
• Private by design. Your notes never leave your device unless you choose. No ads, no tracking, no data selling. No one reads a single word: not us, not an algorithm, not an advertiser.
• Calm and distraction-free. A beautiful editor that stays out of your way. Select any text to format it.
• Connect your ideas. Link notes together, organize with tags, and see how everything connects at a glance.
• Yours forever. Plain Markdown files you own. If Snug ever disappears, your notes don't.

FREE TO START
Open your room for free: unlimited notes, always offline and private, a password lock, and PDF export, on every platform.

GO FURTHER (optional)
Turn on end-to-end encrypted sync to carry the same notes across all your devices, with encrypted backup, read-only note sharing, photos, voice notes, and a file vault. We only ever store unreadable, encrypted data. The key never leaves your device.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Local-first: your notes on your device
• End-to-end encryption for sync
• No ads, no trackers, no data selling

Your best thinking deserves a warm place. Welcome to Snug.

Now when you search, we highlight the word inside the note in orange and mark on the side where each match sits. Tap a mark to jump straight to it. Finding something in a long note is much faster now.
