Never had issues before this app was "needed" to use my socket scanner. I use Building Reports for work and the scanner won't connect without this. It also stays on in the background, with a notification it is doing so, until I force stop it. Otherwise it will just stay running, long after I'm done using the scanner and program it's for, burning up my battery and annoying me with the notification. And to the Developers- Who designs a service that won't shut itself off when you're done using it?

Hi Vincent, If you were told it is required to use your scanner, forcing stop the Companion service might lead to scanner connection failure. If you are concerned about battery, turn off your scanner when you are not using it. The service (it's sole purpose is to manage scanner connection) in the background alone won't affect battery much. I wish I could connect even 20% of the time! This is the worst device app made on earth. I have tried to download the app but my system tells me its installed, but a review of all apps and programs show nothing. I click to reinstall and the response is it will eventually do so, but nothing. Frustrating! If you've heard "SocketMobile" just unthink it and run. I've lost so much time with this crud, and our annual inventory count begins tomorrow. Sad.

Hi Rob, Google Play shows you are on app version 1.3.58, which had outdated. Please try uninstall the app, reboot your phone, and then try to reinstall the app. Or in any case, you can email us at support@socketmobile.com. Leave your number, we'll call you back. Thanks.

Latest update causes ScanSeries app to force close. Going on days now and Socket Mobile has not fixed it. Socket Mobile needs to remove latest update or come out with another update to fix it. Scan series works fine when socket mobile is uninstalled, as soon as I install socket mobile app it causes scan series to crash, won't even open. Scanner is unusable now. Update...latest update has made it usable again.

Hi Nick, Sorry for the issue you encountered. We did release a new update to address this issue (v 2.1.70). Can you double check and try install the latest version from Google Play?
