SofeaKids is a companion app for SofeaApp that helps parents apply phone usage rules on their child’s Android device.

SofeaKids must be installed on the child’s device, while SofeaApp is installed on the parent’s device. Both apps are connected using the pairing code provided in SofeaApp.

With SofeaKids, parents can use the following features:

App time limits – set time limits for games, social media, video platforms, and other entertainment apps used by your child.

Phone usage schedules – create schedules for school time, study time, bedtime, family time, or other daily activities. While a schedule is active, selected apps can be limited or blocked automatically.

Block specific apps – choose which apps can be used, limited, or completely blocked according to the rules set by the parent.

App usage information – view device usage time and see which apps are used most often. This information helps parents understand their child’s digital habits and create more suitable phone rules.

Keep important apps available – allow essential apps to remain accessible, such as phone calls, messaging, school apps, transportation apps, and other important services.

Child device location – send the child device’s location to the connected parent account. Location accuracy may depend on the device, GPS signal, internet connection, and surrounding environment.

Alarms from parents – send an alarm from SofeaApp to the child’s device when you need their attention. Alarm behaviour may depend on device permissions and settings.

App protection – help prevent SofeaKids from being removed or disabled without the parent’s knowledge. Parents can also receive information when a new app is installed on the child’s device.

SofeaKids is designed to help families build healthier device usage habits. The app must be installed openly on the child’s device and used with the child’s knowledge and appropriate consent.

How to start using SofeaKids:

1. Install SofeaApp on the parent’s Android device.
2. Install SofeaKids on the child’s Android device.
3. Generate a pairing code in SofeaApp.
4. Enter the code in SofeaKids.
5. Grant the required permissions on the child’s device.
6. Start managing schedules, apps, and usage limits from SofeaApp.

Some features may require an active trial or subscription in SofeaApp.

Permissions used by SofeaKids:

1. Display over other apps – used to display the blocking screen when a restricted app is opened.

2. Accessibility service – used to help apply parental restrictions and prevent configured rules from being bypassed.

3. Usage access – used to display app usage information and identify which apps are being used.

4. Location access – used to send the child device’s location to the connected parent account.

5. Autostart and background activity – used to keep schedules, alarms, location updates, and app rules working reliably.

6. Device administrator permission – used to help protect SofeaKids from unauthorized removal.
