Sofia Transit shows you exactly when the next bus, tram or trolleybus will arrive — in real time, directly from Sofia public transport. It shows you the vehicles that are reachable for you. If it takes you 5-6 minutes to walk to the stop, the program will show you only the vehicles arriving after that time.

The application aims to fill the need for quick orientation and route planning in Sofia with minimal need for data entry. This way you can configure a route that you will not see on Google Maps, but it can save you 5, 10 or more minutes. When opened, it shows you the stops around you within a radius of 1700 m, starting from the nearest one. It shows you the vehicles stopping at it, the arrival time and the final stop, for orientation of the direction. If you touch the stop, it will open Google Maps and show you a walking route to it. If you touch a line number, it will open the rest of the timetable to the last stop. This way you can choose where you will get off. The application immediately opens the stops near the one where you got off and the times of the lines stopping at them. This way you can choose the line to which you want to transfer and again at which stop to get off. At any time you can save the route you have planned so far. When you no longer need it, you can delete it with the trash. You have a button with which to call up the map of the entire public transport in real time. You also have a button with which to turn on/off the 5-minute time it takes to get off the subway platform from the surface, or to get on from the platform to the surface.

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Is the real-time data accurate?
A: The application uses the official GTFS-RT feed of Sofia Public Transport — the same data that their official website uses. Accuracy depends on the GPS devices of the vehicles themselves.

Q: Does it work without the Internet?
A: The schedules are cached locally for 48 hours. In the absence of Internet, you see the last loaded schedules, but real times require a connection.

Q: Why don't I see all the stops around me?
A: The free version shows 2 stops. The full version shows all stops within 1700 m.

Q: How is the data updated?
A: The schedules (GTFS static data) are updated automatically every day. The real times are updated every few seconds.

Q: Does the app use a lot of battery?
A: GPS is used only for initial location determination — it is not turned on constantly. The app does not run in the background.

Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Refunds are managed by Google Play. Within 48 hours of purchase, you can request a refund directly from Google Play.

The app uses GPS only to find nearby stops. The location is not recorded or sent anywhere.
