I usually avoid paying for apps but figured for 4 bucks this would be worth it if it was an efficient dictation machine. Turns out this isn't dictation software at all. Rather, you're simply *paying for access* to a dictation service. And it gets worse. Not only do you have to pay *up front* for access to the service, but you have to then pay $.50 per minute for a transcription. So, $30 per hour. And it gets worse. This is an AUTOMATED transcription. There is no human transcibing this. It's just software. Why on Earth would you have to pay per minute for a digitized, automated transcription. The length of an audio recording has virtually no additional cost to the servers or the people running this company. The only Extra Value created by the length of the audio recording is simply a value that goes to the person making the recording. This is just pure greed.

It's the only app I found that works just like a conventional dictaphone, so that's pretty amazing! But I'm missing the display of the waveform, it would be easier to insert or overwrite at a certain time. And even though I like the "delete pauses" option, I'd prefer like a 1 second silence in between because it doesn't sound natural if the whole pause is deleted.

Tested the app shortly before 2 important meetings, and seemed to work as it should when testing it. However now after the meetings, trying to go through the recording, it have only recorded a few minutes of the total 2 hours of both. The recording last for the entire time however the sound is not there. It turns back on in the very last few seconds as if it is only recording when the screen is on. According to the description it should record with screen off as well. Very unhappy right now.

Sorry you had a bad experience. There is a setting "Keep Screen On" that will prevent your phone from going to sleep and may help keep your device recording. Having said that, Every device I have tested, has continued to record when the screen goes off.
