About this app

Sona is the owner app for battery-free NFC pet tags. Build your pet’s digital passport on your phone, claim your tag, and get notified when someone taps it. Anyone who finds your pet can help from their browser — no Sona app required.

YOUR PET’S DIGITAL PASSPORT
Add a photo, breed, weight, temperament, and recovery notes. Choose situation presets — Everyday, Travel, Medical Alert, With Sitter — so finders and caregivers see the right context. You control every field that appears on your tag’s public page.

SCAN ALERTS
When someone taps or scans your Sona tag, you can receive a push notification right away. Know your tag was opened before you even check your phone.

REPORT MISSING
Switch to high-alert lost mode when your pet goes missing. Optionally reach nearby Sona owners who opted in to neighborhood alerts.

CARE LINKS
Share a time-limited, revocable link with sitters, vets, or boarding — only the passport fields you pick. Revoke anytime.

GOOGLE WALLET
Add a wallet-ready pet ID card from your passport (when available on your account).

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Sona tags have no GPS and no batteries. We do not continuously track your pet or finders. Location is used only when you choose — for example your home area for neighborhood alerts, or a one-time reading when reporting a pet lost. Finders may optionally share their location during a tap session to help reunite your pet.

SECURITY
Sign in with email, Google, or optional two-step verification. Optional biometric sign-in after sign-out on supported devices.

FINDERS DON’T NEED THIS APP
When someone taps your tag, their phone opens a simple webpage with your pet’s photo, safe-approach notes, and how to reach you. No download, no account.

REQUIREMENTS
• Sona owner accounts are for adults 18 and older.
• Sona NFC tags are sold separately at sonatags.com and are required for scan alerts and the full owner experience.
• This app is for pet owners. Finders use any smartphone to tap or scan your tag.
