I just installed this on a Samsung S5 with Android 5.0 and a older Motorola X with 4.0.4 and it installed and functioned correctly. It lost a star because once you create a connection, you are unable to retype the ip address. Also that the ip address must be followed with the port number (10.0.0.1:4433) in order for this to work, but the app warns that it is an improper ip address. Many people that are discouraged with this may not understand the complexity that a Sonicwall Firewall brings to this. The app takes about 3 minutes to download/install/setup, however the firewall portion of the setup can take over an hour. I am certified in Sonicwalls so it was quick for me, but someone googling this would take a long time. In order to be successful, your phone and OS need to be on the list of supported devices and your firewall must be supported. My firewall is a NSA220 with 5.9.1 firmware. The firewall must be configured for a SSLVPN connection, Self-signed certs created, Nat rules created, Firewall rules for the SSLVPN connections created, ip addresses range for connections needs configured and about a dozen other things in order for everything to work.
Unfortunately neither the android or IOS versions work. When trying to setup a connection to our Sonicwal TZ 205 we get an error saying that there is no sonicwall at that address which is odd since it works fine with my PC at home.
Logs In but no activity Seems to connect, but there's no network activity occurring. Works on my PC so I don't believe access is a problem
Disappointed Can't get it to work. Seems to login but then returns error " no routes found. Contact administrator". Sonicwall tech support asked me too set up my firewall which IS setup as we have multiple people getting in using laptops. Sonicwall tech support didnt seem to know about this vpn client for Android. They seem to know only about the Global VPN Client (GVC). Really wanted this to work as it would be extremely helpful managing my network remotely.
Can't start VPN More often than not, on multiple Galaxy Note 3 and 4 devices, the app doesn't allow me to check the "I trust this application" check box. Have yet to find a resolution to this issue.
Cannot connect It shows that it tries to connect, but when the Connection Request screen comes up, I cannot press OK. I can only press CANCEL and then it says: Cannot connect without permission to create a VPN. Has anyone encountered this issue before? I'm using Lollipop 5.0.1. This app is working on everyone's iPhones in the office and the desktop app works on all computers... So, it has to be an issue with the Android app.
Mobile Connect 3.1.12 resolves the following issues:
• VPN connections cannot be established on certain Android 4.0.x devices
• OpenSSL 1.0.1k security fixes
• Additional bug fixes
