The app was super streamlined to the point that literally, once it downloaded, I was able to control the TV after putting the code into my phone. No having to sign up or any of that nonsense. HOWEVER, this app doesn't let "control the TV" if you want to do anything beyond changing the volume or the channel. I have a chromecast I want to run. There is no option to change input selection through this app. If I can give it zero stars I would. But if I can't, know that my 1 star is the real.

No it doesn't allow streaming, it doesn't say anywhere that it does. One star is for as follows: No real functionality besides seeing what the channel number and name is, not what's on, even though that section is called the channel guide, volume, and on/off. There's no way to go through any on demand or hotel functions such as guest services. You can turn the TV up or down, change the channel, and turn it off, but not on. This is a very lacking app that doesn't do half of what it does promise

Basically your phone becomes the remote, but I really think the experience one has is based on the capabilities of the TV being used. So, for me, the only thing I could do was change the channel, volume, and power. Others may be able to cast, but the television has to have the capability to allow it. So, my 3 stars is more about the incapability of the television I'm using than the app. The app worked just fine for what the TV allows.
