Mahjong Score Dojo is an app that helps you practice counting points and memorizing scores in Mahjong by solving problems one by one. It's designed for those who have been putting off learning point calculations.
■ You can start even if you don't know anything about points
Even if you're at the stage of "What are points (fu)?", that's okay. The "Beginner's Lesson" that you open first after installing the app explains the concept of points step by step.
We don't immediately show you all 14 tiles. The format involves answering questions by looking at small components such as sequences, triplets, quads, pairs, and waiting tiles, like "How many points are these three tiles?". There are 34 steps in total, and you can complete one cycle in about 5 minutes. You can stop midway and retake the course as many times as you like.
■ For those who are stuck because they're not good at point calculation
You've learned the rules of Mahjong. You understand the hands. But when you win, you can't immediately come up with the score.
Point calculations are the most detailed part of Mahjong, and they're often the last thing people learn. "How much is 30 points and 4 han?" "How much is it if you're the dealer?" "What's the difference between drawing a tile and winning by discarding a tile?"
Many people probably just look at a score sheet or ask the other players at the table.
This app is a practice tool to take you a step further. It's not just a reading-only explanation; it uses a format where you look at actual hands and answer the questions yourself.
■ It displays the breakdown of how points are counted.
It doesn't just end with correct/incorrect answers.
Base points 20 + Draw 2 + Triplet 4 = 26 points → Rounded up to 30 points
In this way, it displays the breakdown of where each point was added, line by line. You can also check why the points change between drawing a tile and winning by discarding a tile, and where rounding up occurs.
The game also makes it easy to understand the situation at a glance by marking winning tiles with "Ron" or "Tsumo," placing a Riichi stick on hands that have already declared Riichi, highlighting Dora tiles in gold, and clearly displaying whether the player is the dealer or not, and whether it's Ron or Tsumo below the tiles.

■ About Ads
If you are using the free version, a banner ad will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. The position is always fixed, and margins are maintained to prevent overlap with content, so it will not be swapped with the button you intend to press while solving a problem. Full-screen ads are limited to once a day and are only displayed at learning milestones (such as when you complete today's challenge). Ads will not interrupt you while you are solving problems. Ads are not displayed when you purchase a premium subscription.
■ Data Handling
All learning records, ranks, and settings are saved on your device and are not sent to the developer's server. No account registration or login is required. You can use it even in places without an internet connection.
When changing devices, you can export your learning data to a single file from "Transfer Learning Data" in the settings and import it to your new device.
Learning data can be deleted at any time from "Settings → Delete Learning Data" within the app.
*Deleting the app will also delete your learning records. If you have an exported file, you can restore it from there.
