About this app

This is the official app from Space City Weather, the hyperlocal Houston weather site from Eric Berger and Matt Lanza. The SCW app brings to your mobile device everything from the site, and more, including:

- Daily weather forecasts, weather topic discussions and detailed coverage of major weather events
- Current conditions put the stats Houstonians care about most front and center.
- Hourly and 7-day forecasts with rain chances
- Live National Weather Service (NWS) radar, weather discussions and alerts
- Conditions and forecasts for 12 locations in the Greater Houston area: Houston, Hobby Airport, Conroe, Galveston, Katy, Tomball, Beaumont, League City, Sugar Land, Lake Jackson, Baytown, and Pearland
- Notifications of new blog posts and urgent weather news
- Support for Metric and Imperial systems (Fahrenheit/MPH and Celsius/KPH)
- Clean, simple design for easy browsing and quick loading
- Our usual nerdy humor

What the SCW app does NOT have: Ads and tracking. We respect your privacy.

Minimalist but buggy, and needs a widget! Please, give us a widget! I can delete my other weather app then (well maybe not, I go out of town for work). I do love how easy it is to navigate, the minimalist look and feel makes it easy even for my 70+ mom to use! The evacuate Katy notification does not stay though. I actually rarely go into apps, I get my info from the widget usually and that's all I need, typically.

The app is intentionally minimalist, which makes it very easy to use and navigate. Unfortunately, at the moment, there appears to be bugs for Houston and Conroe locations where the information is N/A. There are some issues with scrolling the app in the main page if you start with your thumb on the blog post snippet. Overall, I really like the app and would expect these issue to be resolved fairly quickly.

Simple and clean, just as I would expect from SCW. I was very excited y'all came out with the app, there are just a few bugs I'm noticing right now. Notification settings in the app don't seem to work. I set it to "space city weather alerts" for the urgent alerts. Even though I've turned off "new blog post" I'm still getting daily alerts for each post. Also the toggle for "evacuate Katy" won't stay put, it untoggles right after selected.
