This app uses the AccessibilityService API strictly to detect physical hardware button events (specifically KEYCODE_UNKNOWN / Key 0) from the device's 'Essential Key'.

Super useful app! I previously suggested to add the glyph light as an option and a week or two later, the developer delivered! Amazing team, amazing app. Thank you. The last thing I could say is: everything key would feel complete to me if it was possible to assign any app shortcut to it. I can see myself using it for the New task shortcut for ticktick. Or the app search in smart launcher. That would be super useful!

This gets the job done. I had a problem where Essential Space opened and closed for a second but the developer emailed me the resolution. It was simply to disable the dang thing. Good customer service. 👍

For anyone wondering: No, you don't need adb to use this app. Install, give permissions to detect the button press and you're good to go. App works great, I can finally turn on my flashlight even when the screen is off now! I would love a glyph reaction when doing the switch between ring and vibrate.
