About this app

Serendip is a dating app that doesn't turn dating into a game. No swiping, no stack of faces to sort through. One person who fits you is found — and you actually make room for them.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

Most dating apps are built to hold your attention. The more you swipe, the more notifications you get, the better. Serendip doesn't work that way.

• One match at a time
You're not juggling a dozen conversations. One person, one real conversation.

• Talk first, look later
Photos are blurred on the match card. They clear up once you both say yes. Your first decision is based on their voice and what you have in common, not on a photo.

• No swipe economy
No like counts, no "who liked you" list, no "12 people viewed your profile today" notifications.

• No notification pestering
We send four kinds of notification, and each one is tied to something that actually concerns you: someone suitable was found, you matched, you have a message, or your pending suggestion is about to expire. There is no fifth kind — we never built "we miss you" or "X people viewed your profile" notifications.

• Close the app and get on with your life
Your search keeps running even when you close it. Our goal isn't to increase your screen time.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Sign up — Create an account with your email or your Google account, describe yourself in a few sentences, pick your interests. Add a short voice intro if you like.

2. Search — Start a search when you're ready. One suitable person is found based on your city and age preferences.

3. Decide — The match card shows their name, city, what you have in common, and their voice intro if they recorded one. The photo is blurred at this stage.

4. Get to know them — If you both say yes, the conversation opens and photos clear up. If you'd rather not continue, you end the conversation. Nobody's waiting in a queue.

APP MODEL

Serendip provides weekly refreshed search allowances. For most people, this allowance is more than enough for a deliberate pace.

If you need additional searches, flexible search credits are available. Credits never expire and can be used whenever you choose. Since we do not display ads or sell your data, our model relies directly on this system.

SAFETY

• Face verification (optional)
Record a short video to confirm the profile is really you and earn a "verified" badge. You can also choose to match only with verified people.

• Block and report
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block and report them with one tap.

• 18+ only
Serendip is for adults aged 18 and over.

YOUR DATA

We don't sell your data and we don't share it with ad networks. There are no ads in the app.

If you use face verification: the video you record is deleted once verification completes (in a suspicious case it's kept only until review is finished). The mathematical signature derived from your face is kept for as long as your account is open, to stop the same person from opening multiple accounts.

You can delete your account any time from Settings. When you do, your conversations, photos and all verification data are deleted too. You can download a copy of your data or request deletion of specific data.
