Spectryx is a spectral harmonic synthesizer built as an interactive art piece. The entire screen is a hand-drawn instrument you play with your fingers.
Four voices of 7 distinct synthesis engines, up to 64 harmonics each. Slide along the morph strip and the core of the sound transforms in real time:
ADDITIVE: the spectrum is the sound, pure and glassy
WAVETABLE: scanning oscillators with living unison motion
FORMANT: vowel and vocal tones shaped from your own spectrum
KARPLUS-STRONG: real physically modeled strings, plucked and bowed
FM: metallic bells and bright, biting timbres
RING MOD: clangorous sum-and-difference tones
CHAOS: pitch-synced bifurcation that frays into noise
HOW YOU PLAY
A LinnStrument-style grid covers the playing surface: twelve columns, ten rows, tuned in fourths. Up to four fingers at once, each its own voice. There are no buttons to hunt for. You just play, and the Engine Cortex reacts to every touch with light and particles.
SCULPT THE SOUND
The Harmonic Sigil Globe is a geodesic sphere of harmonics you shape directly with your finger, drawing the timbre as a sigil. Drag, paint, and reset to carve the spectrum into whatever you want to hear.
TWELVE EXPERIMENTAL EFFECTS
A dodecagon menu of twelve custom DSP effects, each a small world of its own: cavernous reverbs, fractal delays, phantom patterns, frequency shifters, bit-crushed decay, and more. Three controls each, all tuned to be characterful and strange; exploratory and experimental..
ASTRAL SEQUENCER
A celestial euclidean and step sequencer with its own electronic percussion engine, drawn as a field of stars and orbiting bodies. Build and randomize evolving rhythms and drop them straight into your performance.
RECORD AND LOOP
Punch in instantly and capture your moves: every fader, knob, and gesture is recorded and plays back as automation, so a performance can loop and grow on itself.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Spectryx is meant to be explored more than learned. Put on headphones, touch the void, and listen.
