The Speechling Method

With a foundation in our mission, the Speechling Method uses a combination of technology and human coaching to help our students learn new languages.

We place an emphasis on speaking, because of the lack of free and affordable tools for helping people speak. By breaking down spoken language barriers, we hope to increase access to education, employment opportunities, and a better quality of life.

Personal Feedback

As a personal tutoring service, our certified pronunciation coaches give feedback on your speaking within 24 hours. Advanced students can answer a question or describe an image, and we will give feedback similar to what a private tutor will provide.

Unlike other for-profit companies, our coaching is also free - but because it has significant overhead costs, we charge just enough to cover our costs and for those who demonstrate that they cannot afford that price, we provide full scholarships.

Ratings and reviews

This app really is soooo good. Even 3 years into language learning I didn't realize how important some of the exercises in here can be, until now. Awesome supplemental learning that everyone should have as a part of their personal learning schedule. I love the listening practice, and I really enjoy how customizable the difficulty settings are (amazing). I don't even like doing dictation, but it's so quick and easy on here. I do wish listening mode had options to turn off English. Still great 👍

This may be the perfect software for solo language learning. To recall and repeat instantly and self test that way is amazing. Problem is after a few questions, the whole record button is stuck in a cycle, so now i cant use it. I have 1 gigabit internet at home. Please fix this, its too good to pass up! Also add a lot more phrases. Thanks guys!

Awesome app. As a lower intermediate learner of español, it's become more useful for me now than as a beginner, since I now understand syntax of the language better. If only there was a way to bookmark phrases I want to repeatedly work on. Maybe it's an option in the paid version, pero no estoy segura. But I think the monthly price is too high. Well, the price isn't high considering you get unlimited coaching, but I don't need the coaching since I have native speakers to help me.

What's new

Lots of new features, bug fixes, and performance upgrades. Two new languages supported: British English and Castilian Spanish. Better algorithms for personalized learning. Additional professional audio recordings were added to our comprehensive language learning curriculum. All of these updates are available for our 10 languages: Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Russian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Japanese, and English.
