Your fuel gauge tells you what you've burned — it can't tell you when to stop adding energy and get more out of it. EcoDrive can. It's a fitness app for your car: it learns your vehicle's real physics — how it coasts, how it carries speed — knows the road ahead, and prompts you to lift off the accelerator at exactly the point where gliding will carry you to the next roundabout, corner or speed change at the right speed.

Here's a secret your car already knows: when you lift off the accelerator in gear, modern engines switch the fuel off completely. Every metre you glide is free.

So take a typical petrol car, give it exactly one litre, accelerate to 100 km/h and cruise until it's gone. Brake at the end.

If you didn't brake, but lift off the gas and glide down in gear, burning nothing you would glide. That glide will carry you the better part of a kilometre further on the same litre of fuel. Multiply that by every roundabout, give-way and red light on your commute. That's one of the physics EcoDrive coaches, on every drive.
