# Leave the office. Keep your servers within reach.
Rove is a cross-platform SSH workspace for developers, sysadmins, homelab users, and server owners who need real server access away from the desk.
Use Rove on your phone when you are travelling, on call, between meetings, or away from the office. Use supported desktop and web tools to organize your workspace where it is more comfortable, then carry that server workflow with you.
# One workspace for server work
Rove brings the important parts of SSH work into one connected workspace:
- Real SSH terminal
- SFTP file browser
- Command Composer
- Runner for prepared commands
- App-native remote editor
- AI-assisted workflows
- Optional sync, backup, and restore
- Web Library and paired web editor
Instead of juggling disconnected terminals, notes, file tools, and saved snippets, Rove keeps hosts, files, commands, variables, and workspace context together.
# Real SSH and SFTP
Use a real interactive shell when you need direct control. Browse remote files over SFTP, copy paths, upload and download files, and keep file operations visible and deliberate.
Rove does not silently sync remote files or overwrite content in the background. Your shell remains your shell.
# Command Composer
Prepare commands before sending them to a live shell.
Composer gives you a structured place to draft, review, save, and reuse commands. Use saved commands, variables, pinned workflows, and context from the browser or terminal to work more safely on mobile.
# Runner and selected results
Run prepared commands separately from your interactive shell. The Runner is useful for builds, log collection, backups, reports, or packaging a folder.
When a task produces a declared output file, Rove can help you retrieve that result. Artifact retrieval is explicit and user-directed.
# AI-assisted workflows
Use AI to help draft, explain, review, or transform commands.
AI is assistive, not automatic:
- It does not silently run commands
- It does not inspect files or secrets without your action
- It does not harvest clipboard or terminal history in the background
- You choose what to apply, copy, or run
# Web editor and Web Library
Rove's web tools help you organize your workspace from a larger screen.
Use the web editor and Web Library to manage non-secret workspace configuration such as hosts, saved commands, variables, preferences, host templates, and public key information for server provisioning.
The web editor is for setup and curation. It does not become a live web shell, does not run commands on your servers, and does not manage private keys.
# Local-first security
Rove is designed around clear boundaries.
Private keys, passwords, passphrases, and AI credentials stay on your device. Workspace sync is for non-secret configuration such as hosts, commands, variables, preferences, and workspace structure.
Sync does not include private keys, passwords, passphrases, or AI API keys.
# Trial, Core, subscription, and Pro
Rove is free to download and includes a trial so you can decide whether it fits your real workflow.
After the trial, you can buy Core once for the local-first workbench, or subscribe for Core while active plus service-backed features such as sync, backup, restore, cross-platform access, web editing, and trusted-device management.
Pro workspaces, where available, add shared workspace features for teams, including members, seats, roles, shared command library, host templates, public-key provisioning visibility, and audit/activity views. A Pro workspace is not a shared login. Each member keeps their own Rove account, device identity, and local private keys.
# Work anywhere
Rove helps you build your server workflow once and use it wherever you are.
Set up your hosts, commands, and workspace from desktop or web. Use your phone when work follows you away from your desk.
Leave the office without leaving your servers out of reach. Be productive anywhere
